8TH ANNUAL

ALOHA SPIRIT YOGA & WELLNESS RETREAT (Segment 1)

Yoga & Meditation  |   Hiking & Cuisine  |   Periods of Noble Silence

WAIPUNALEI, HAMAKUA COAST

This two-segment retreat is an invitation to immerse ourselves in the healing spirit of Aloha, be inspired by the natural beauty and return to the sacredness of who we are when distractions drop away. You are invited to join either or both segments.

Both segments of this retreat will include:

  • Daily sunrise meditation
  • Daily all-levels Vinyasa and Yin Yoga (and/or "Yin-Vin-Yin")
  • Delicious, organic, plant-based meals (gluten-free, dairy-free, mostly vegan, only natural sugars, low salt, etc; organic eggs and chicken or fish will be available.)
  • Optional hiking and exploring
  • Ample free time

This will be a highly personalized semi-private retreat with an intimate group size of no more than 6 people. All activities and yoga practices will be optional.

“Aloha” means “presence of breath” or “breath of life.” The ancient Hawaiians likened the ability to live the spirit of Aloha with attaining spiritual enlightenment. It’s even written into the Hawaiian Statutes: “All citizens and government officials of Hawai`i are obligated by law to conduct themselves in accordance with this law….‘Aloha Spirit’ is the coordination of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others... In the contemplation and presence of the life force....”

SEGMENT #1:  HAMAKUA COAST

Perched on the cliffside, our 3-bedroom home for this very intimately-sized first segment of the Aloha Spirit Retreat will be located in Waipunalei, between Waimea (Kamuela) and Hilo on the beautiful, rural Hamakua Coast. We'll hike  the Hamakua Coast, Akaka Falls and Perimeter Trail at Kalopa State Park and picnic in scenic locations like Laupahoehoe Point Park. There will also be ample free time to relax and enjoy the pool, take in the spectacular, sweeping views and if you like, visit the shops and galleries of Honokaa.
