Held at a 50-acre, off-grid, eco-boutique, oceanfront retreat sanctuary and organic farm, located within an ancient sacred valley of healing, this retreat is an invitation to return to the sacredness of who we are when distractions drop away.  The retreat takes place during the peak of the humpback whale season, when thousands of whales surround the Hawaiian Islands to calve and socialize.

Peak-Season Whalewatching

Aloha Spirit retreats are specially planned to take place during the peak of the humpback whale season in Hawai'i, when thousands of whales surround the islands to calve and socialize.  The whales begin arriving in Hawai'i in November and migrate back to Alaska in late May, but their numbers peak in the Hawaiian waters during February. Whale-watching from land is one of the best ways to experience the whales.  Boat trips can also be organized at additional cost.

Double-Occupancy: $1645

Single Supplement: $550

Pay in full by November 17 to save $150.

Please note that the following are not included in the retreat price:
• Airfare
• Transfers
• Alcoholic or specialty drinks
• Tours, massages, or other outside activities
• Gratuity for staff of Hawai'i Island Retreat

Open-air morning meditation will begin each day. A three-hour morning practice of gentle Vinyasa and restorative but deep Yin Yoga will follow a leisurely breakfast. The yoga room overlooks the ocean and bluffs, and the walls slide open to welcome the outside in. The rest of the day is for free time, to read, relax, swim, or explore the gardens and wild groves, ancient valley trails, and pohakus, or sacred stones, where for thousands of years Hawaiians have sat to heal and awaken to their questions.

Organic farm-to-table cuisine, a salt-water infinity pool and hot tub, towering evergreens, fresh ocean breezes, and the nearby artist town Hawi (pronounced “Havi”), are just a few things that make this place and experience worth returning to every year.

Hawaii Island Retreat is a leader in green design/engineering and sustainable practices. It is located off-the-grid and runs on solar and wind power. The saltwater infinity pool and adjacent hot tub are solar-heated and purified using salt rather than harsh chemicals.

The Aloha Spirit annual retreat is an opportunity to unplug, slow down, drop in, and simply be amidst pristine natural beauty. It’s also a time to enjoy the company of new and old like-minded friends and sangha. Familiar faces have a habit of returning each year for this retreat—which makes it doubly special. We hope to see you there too!
